☛ a. Evidence for the Name Yehushuo (6 Hebrew Letters)
Yehweh's Son's Name AT LEAST Includes the SIX Hebrew Letters of JOSHUA Son of NUN's Real Name—that Transliterate into Old English as I-E-U-ʃ-U-O (Pronounced/Transcribed: Yehushuo [yeh-oo-shoo-oh])
The Name of the Son of IEUE at least includes the longest, six-Hebrew-lettered Westminster Lengingrad Codex (WLC) version of the name of the man who is usually today called "Joshua son of NUN", MaSHE's (Moses's) successor (after his renaming from EUSHO [Hoshea/Hosea/Oshea]).
The Westminster Leningrad Codex (WLC) is widely accepted as the oldest (11th Century AD) most: currently publicly accessible and complete collection of Masoretic/Massoritic Jewish Hebrew Old Covenant scripTUREs.
The Modern Jewish Hebrew letters of this version of "Joshua's" name are yod-he-waw-shin-waw-ayin יהושׁוע (right to left) which best transliterate (except for the "SH" which is a transcription [sound match] only), into English as I-E-U-SH-U-O (said as [eeh-eh-ooh-shooh-oh] or [Yeh-ooh-shooh-oh]). The Ancient Hebrew names of the letters in this name are: ID-EA-UU-SHaN-UU-ON.
The reason why IEUE's Son's Name at least includes the letters of "IEUSHUO" is largely because of the two New Covenant verses Acts 7:45 and OBaRIM (Hebrews) 4:8. In most Greek New Covenant texts, in these verses, "Joshua" son of NUN is mentioned using the same name as the Son of IEUE (which is "ιησου" [G2424]—usually translated into Jesus in English Bibles)—within each text. These Greek texts include the: Majority/Byzantine Text, Textus Receptus, and Westcott-Hort Text. The name "ιησου" transcribes into English as [ieshou], [eeh-eh-shoh-ooh] or [Yeh-shoh-ooh] in Early Modern Greek.
Acts 7:45 Which also our fathers that came after brought in with Jesus [ιησου, G2424] into the possession of the Gentiles, whom God drave out before the face of our fathers, unto the days of David; [Authorised Version (AV) 1769 (also known as KJV); with added: words in brackets]
OBaRIM (Hebrews) 4:8 For if Jesus [ιησου, G2424] had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day. [Authorised Version (AV) 1769 (also known as KJV); with added: words in brackets]
There are UP TO 10 MORE MEN and ONE PLACE Named "JOSHUA" Recorded in the OLDER TESTAMENT—After "Joshua" the Son of NUN Died
The "Joshua" Names - References to the Older-Testament Name "Joshua" (or Similar) in the Masoretic Jewish Hebrew Westminster Leningrad Codex
After "Joshua" the son of NUN died, we see up to 10 more men and one place recorded in the Masoretic Jewish Hebrew Westminster Lengingrad Codex (WLC)—each with the same name as one or the other of the two shortest versions (out of three in total in the WLC) of "Joshua" son of NUN's name...Continue
[From this point on, on this page, "Joshua" will be the name used to refer to all of these men and place—until the full case for the Name IEUESHUO (the Son of IEUE) has been presented.]
Of All the "Joshuas" — ONLY the Son of NUN and the Son of IEUTSaDaQ (JOSEDECH) Have MULTIPLE VERSIONS of their Names
Out of all the (up to 12 in total) men and place named "Joshua" in the WLC, only two have multiple versions of their name in terms of the number of letters: these are "Joshua" son of NUN (with three), and "Joshua" son of IEUTSaDaQ (Josedech) (with two).
The LONGEST Version Out of the THREE Versions of "Joshua" Son of NUN's Name is the Most Accurate Out OF THE THREE
Again, there are three versions of "Joshua" son of NUN's name—in terms of the number of letters—in the Westminster Leningrad Codex (WLC):
1) The longest version has six Modern Jewish Hebrew letters (yod-he-waw-shin-waw-ayin) יהושׁוע which best transliterate into English as I-E-U-SH-U-O (said as [eeh-eh-ooh-shooh-oh] or [Yeh-ooh-shooh-oh]). This name is referenced by Strong's H3091. The Authorised Version (AV) 1769 (also known as KJV) translates this version as "Joshua" in the two verses it is found in (DaBaRIM [Deuteronomy] 3:21 and SHUPaTHIM [Judges] 2:7).
2) The second longest version has five Modern Jewish Hebrew letters (yod-he-waw-shin-ayin) יהושׁע which best transliterate into English as I-E-U-SH-O—without a second letter waw (named UU in Ancient Hebrew)—(said as [eeh-eh-ooh-shoh] or [Yeh-ooh-shoh]). This name is referenced by Strong's H3091 as well. The AV translates this version as: "Joshua" in 200 instances, and "Jehoshua" in two instances (BaMaDaBaR [Numbers] 13:16 and 1 DaBaRI E IMIM [1 Chronicles] 7:27). Up to three other men, including "Joshua" the son of IEUTSaDaQ (Josedech) are also referred to as IEUSHO (14 times in total). The Scriptures (Bible Version) uses this version.
Book Review - The Scriptures (Bible Version) by the ISR ✮✮✮✩✩
The Scriptures (TS) Bible version is an English Messianic literal translation. This translation differs significantly from most common English translations in that it has restored the original book order of the Hebrew Scriptures—and has used the Modern Jewish Hebrew letters יהוה for the Father's Name throughout. It also uses an almost accurate (five letter) name (that transliterates as I-E-U-SH-O, two Hebrew letters short of the maximum possible seven letter IEUESHUO) of the MaSHICH as יהושע—and a form of Modern Jewish Hebrew for personal names of people and places. It does not have helpful topic headings like some Bible versions, but overall it is one of the best Messianic translations. It is available in a range of formats—including a very useful free e-sword module for their 1998 version. Download e-sword. Preview samples pages of their 2009 version.
3) The shortest version has four Modern Jewish Hebrew letters (yod-shin-waw-ayin) ישׁוע which best transliterate into English as I-SH-U-O (said as [eeh-shooh-oh]). This name is referenced by Strong's H3442. The AV translates this version as "Jeshua" (with an "e") in the one verse it is found (for the son of NUN) (NaCHaMIEU [Nehemiah] 8:17). H3442 is also used to refer to the names of up to eight other men (including "Joshua" the son of IEUTSaDaQ) and one place (28 times in total). H3442 is the same name as H3443 (in both its letters and vowel-points), but H3443 is not used to refer to "Joshua" son of NUN, instead it is used to refer to "Joshua" the son of IEUTSaDaQ (in the only verse it is found: OZaRA [Ezra] 5:2).
The longest version of "Joshua" son of NUN's name in the WLC—IEUSHUO—is the most accurate out of the three. More reasons for this are to come.
Strong's Number H3091 References BOTH of the TWO LONGEST Versions of "Joshua" Son of NUN's Name — I-E-U-ʃ-U-O and I-E-U-ʃ-O
Again, the single Strong's reference H3091 lists the two longest versions (written in the WLC) of "Joshua" son of NUN's name—in terms of the number of letters. These are IEUSHUO and IEUSHO.
The QIBBUTS/KIBBUTS Vowel-Point Under the SHIN of the Five-Lettered Version of H3091 (I-E-U-ʃ-O) Supports the SECOND WAW in the Six-Lettered Version of H3091 (I-E-U-ʃ-U-O)
Strong linked the two longest Jewish Hebrew names of "Joshua" son of NUN with one reference number (H3091) because there is a vowel-point called "qibbuts" or "kibbuts" with three diagonal dots under the letter shin in all 216 instances (including those referring to "Joshua" the son of IEUTSaDaQ—the only other person referred to in the WLC with this name) of the five-lettered name IEUSHO. This vowel-point "qibbuts/kibbuts" has the [ooh] as in the word "true" sound according to the Jewish Hebrew language site AllThingsHebrew.com. This [ooh] sound is the same sound as:
1) The Ancient Hebrew sound for the letter named UU [ooh ooh] which the six-letter version (IEUSHUO) of "Joshua" the son of NUN's name has. This sound can be derived from the UU's transliteral derivative letters in four (out of five—the other being Modern Jewish Hebrew) major modern living SHaMitic (Semitic) alphabets. These letters are: the U in English, the upsilon in Greek, the waw in Syriac Aramaic and the waw in Arabic.
2) The Modern Jewish Hebrew vowel-point sound on the second letter waw of the six-letter version of "Joshua" son of NUN's name (IEUSHUO) that is a shureq/shurek (inner dot). This gives the waw an [ooh] sound and distinguishes it from the other sound a waw can have in Modern Jewish Hebrew, which is V.
The Name I-ʃ-U-O Has a SHUREQ/SHUREK-POINTED Second Waw ([OOH] SOUND) Just Like the Longest (Six) Lettered Version of "Joshua" Son of NUN's Name I-E-U-ʃ-U-O
Just like the longest WLC version of "Joshua" son of NUN's name (which transliterates as IEUSHUO in English), the vowel-point on the letter waw in the WLC in all 30 instances of the shorter name ISHUO (H3442 and H3443), is also a shureq/shurek (inner dot). This indicates again that, the second waw in H3091, H3442, and H3443 has an [ooh] and not a V sound. This is evidenced by the way many Modern Jewish Messianics say the word "Yeshua".
More evidence is to come for the existence of the second letter named UU (waw) in the Son's of IEUE's Name, under the heading (in Part 2): "SHUO" Means SAVES but "SHO" Only Means "Shepherding"—Further Proof for the Final Letter UU (Waw) in H3091".
The SIMPLE SHEWA/SHEVA/SHVA Vowel-Point Under the YOD in H3091 Supports the (Only) [EEH] Sound for the Ancient Equivalent Letter to Yod Named "ID"
Masoretic/Massoritic vowel-pointings are completely unecessary. However, they can be helpful when they sometimes preserve the sound of a perverted pure and unchangeable vowel-letter (which has been wrongly labelled as a consonant, silent or acquiescent letter: by evil elite scribes)—or missing pure vowel-letter. The English letter 'I' in the two English transliterations of H3091 (IEUSHUO and IEUSHO) is supported by the Jewish Hebrew vowel-point of two-stacked-dots called the "simple shewa/sheva/shva". This point is under the (originally pure) yod in 90% (196/218) of the WLC instances of H3091.
A simple shewa/sheva/shva has an [eeh] as in "cheek" sound according to Rev D. Stewart in his book, A Hebrew Grammar, 1882. However he also says that the letter yod has the sound "y" to start with. This would then give an unecessary double [eeh] sound overall—from both the yod letter and it's simple shewa/sheva/shva. However, despite this incorrect surplus [eeh] sound (which has resulted from the evil elite scribal IEUDIM [Jews] teaching us that there are no vowel-letters in Ancient Hebrew, and thus vowel-points are needed)—this simple shewa/sheva/shva still provides evidence that a yod should have only an [eeh] or "y" sound (as within a word, like "yesterday" [eeh-esterday] [but not an English alphabetic-recital (dipthong) sound "why"]).
The "YE" in "YESHUA" is Originally from TWO LETTERS (ID [Yod] and EA [He]) — not Just YOD and its Associated TSERE/SERE Vowel-Point
The "Ye" ([eeh-eh] — a diphthong [two vowel]) sound of the word "Yeshua" in Jewish Hebrew comes from the letter yod [eeh] and its associated vowel-point called "tsere" or "sere" said as [eh] with two adjacent dots.
The name "Yeshua" is based on the name which transliterates into English as ISHUO (H3442 and H3443) in the WLC. The vowel-point tsere/sere is present in all instances of the name I-SH-U-O.
However these two sounds ([eeh] and [eh]) originally came from two separate Ancient Hebrew letters: ID said as [eeh] and EA said as [eh]—as evidenced by H3091's IEUSHUO and IEUSHO.
The Modern Aramaic Syriac (agaim, another SHaMitic [Semitic]) name for "Jesus" which is "Eeshoa" [eeh-shoh-ah] is closer in sound to ISHUO (again, said as [eeh-shooh-oh]), than the Modern Jewish Hebrew "Yeshua". This is because although both names "Eeshoa" and "Yeshua" are based on only four letters the Syriac Aramaic name does not take into account any vowel-point on its first letter (also called) yod.
The "A" Sound in "YESHUA" and "YEHOSHUA" (and So On) Denies the Existence of the Northern House of ISHaRaAL (Israel)
The final [a] sound of "Yeshua", "Yehoshua" and similar names: comes from, again, the evil scribes making the letter ayin (named ON in Ancient Hebrew) into a nonsensical and illogical acquiscent (changeable) letter that requires vowel-pointing (a pathach [horizontal line], in this case) to be pronounced, and making it commonly have the A and not original O [oh] sound (on top of the (ridiculous number of): E, I, O, U, and/or "rough guttoral" sounds). Analysis of the alphabets that have stemmed from Paleo Greek have revealed this "a" sound to be false.
This same pathach vowel-point under the letter ayin is used in all three Strong's references for all the "Joshua's", combined, of: H3091, H3442 and H3443—in all verses they are found in, in the WLC.
The LONGER Name "YEHOSHUA" is MORE COMMON in the State of Israel Today than "YESHUA"
The Modern Jewish Hebrew name "Yehoshua/Yehoshuah" is a more common name used for men in the State of modern Israel today than the name "Yeshua".
For example, "Israeli police Master Sgt. Yehoshuah Sofer, 39, from Beersheba, dies of the wounds sustained when he and his two partners were ambushed by Palestinian gunmen early Monday on Bet Haggai-Hebron road", was written in the Jun. 17, 2010 Weekly Newsletter of the Jewish News Site Debka in the June 14 Briefs section. [Underlining added]
The LONGEST Two Versions of "Joshua" Son of NUN's Name are MORE COMMON than its SHORTEST Version in the WLC
There are over seven times as many references to the two longer names IEUSHUO and IEUSHO combined (H3091) (218) , than the shortest name ISHUO (H3442 and H3443) (30)—for all "Joshuas", in the WLC:
1) IEUSHUO (H3091) is found in 2 instances.
2) IEUSHO (H3091), with a qibbuts/kibbuts vowel-point ([ooh] sound) with three diagonal dots below the shin to make the same sound as IEUSHUO] is found in: 216 instances.
3) ISHUO (H3442 and H3443 ) is found in 30 instances.
The LONGEST Written Version of "Joshua" Son of NUN's Name (IEUʃUO) is Found in the OLDEST Books of ScripTURE and the TaNaK
The longest six-Hebrew-letter WLC version of "Joshua" son of NUN's name (IEUSHUO) is found in the oldest part of scripTURE and the TaNaK (aka Tanakh/Tanach)—in the TURE (Torah) in DaBaRIM (Deuteronomy), and in the NaBIAIM (Prophets) in SHUPaTHIM (Judges):
DaBaRIM (Deuteronomy) 3:21 'And IEUSHUO [H3091] I have commanded at that time, saying, Thine eyes are seeing all that which IEUE your ALEI hath done to these two kings-so doth IEUE to all the kingdoms whither thou are passing over; [Young's Literal Translation; with added: words in brackets, capitalisation and Ancient Hebrew transliterations for proper nouns in the WLC].
SHUPaTHIM (Judges) 2:7 and the people serve IEUE all the days of IEUSHO [H3091, with a qibbuts/kibbuts vowel-point ([ooh] sound) with three diagonal dots below the shin to make the same sound as IEUSHUO], and all the days of the elders who prolonged days after IEUSHUO [H3091], who saw all the great work of IEUE which He did to ISHaRaAL. [Young's Literal Translation; with added: words in brackets, capitalisation and Ancient Hebrew transliterations for proper nouns in the WLC].
The SECOND Longest Version of "Joshua" Son NUN's Name — IEUʃO — is the SAME as the LONGEST of the Two Names Recorded for "Joshua" Son of IEUTSaDaQ
The second longest (five-lettered) version of "Joshua" son of NUN's name—IEUSHO—is the same in the WLC as the longest of the two names recorded for "Joshua" the son of IEUTSaDaQ (Josedech). Strong used the same reference number (H3091) for both "IEUSHO" referring to the son of NUN, and "IEUSHO" referring to the son of IEUTSaDaQ (as well as for two other men also named "Joshua"). The name "IEUSHO" referring to the son of IEUTSaDaQ is found five times in CHaGI (Haggai) and six times in ZaKaRIEU (Zechariah). In these verses the AV translates IEUSHO [11 times in total] as "Joshua" (not "Jeshua", which the son of IEUTSaDaQ is more commonly called [19 times] in the AV).
IEUTSaDaQ was a high priest in the time of CHaGI and ZaRaBaBaL (Zerubbabel). IEUTSaDaQ's son, named "Joshua", also became a high priest and helped lead the building of ZaRaBaBaL's temple, along with NaCHaMIEU (Nehemiah) and several others:
CHaGI (Haggai) 1:12 Then ZaRaBaBaL [Zerubbabel] son of SHaLaTIAL [Shealtiel], and IEUSHO [H3091, with a qibbuts/kibbuts vowel-point ([ooh] sound) with three diagonal dots below the shin to make the same sound as IEUSHUO] SON OF IEUTSaDaQ [Josedech], the HIGH PRIEST, with all the remnant of the people, obeyed the voice of IEUE their ALUEIM [Elohim], and the words of CHaGI [Haggai] the prophet, as IEUE their ALUEIM had sent him. And the people feared the presence of IEUE. [The Scriptures Version 1998; with added: words in brackets, capitalisation and Ancient Hebrew transliterations for proper nouns in the WLC].
H3443 ONLY Refers to "Joshua" Son of IEUTSaDaQ
As mentioned earlier, "Joshua" the son of IEUTSaDaQ also has a version of his name referenced by Strong as H3443 (ISHUO). The AV translates H3443 as "Jeshua" (with an "e"), in the one verse it is found (OZaRA [Ezra] 5:2).
H3442 and H3443 Refer to the SAME NAME — I-ʃ-U-O
H3443 is ISHUO and has exactly the same letters and vowel-points as H3442.
H3442 (I-SH-U-O) is the SHORTEST VERSION of BOTH of the Names for "Joshua" Son of NUN and "Joshua" Son of IEUTSaDaQ
H3442 is used for the shortest versions of both: "Joshua" the son of NUN's name, and "Joshua" the son of IEUTSaDaQ's name. The AV always translates H3442 as "Jeshua" for: both of these two men, up to seven other men and definitely one place (29 times in total).
Yehweh's SON IS A "SPROUTING BRANCH" LIKE the NAME of "Joshua" Son of IEUTSaDaQ
Another reason why IEUE's Son's Name at least includes the letters of "IEUSHUO" is because IEUE's Son Himself is a Sprouting Branch (the offspring of David [DUID], and sprouting branch of an olive tree), and so is the name of "Joshua" son of IEUTSaDaQ—whom the post-BaBaLonian-exilic temple sprouted up (was built up) from.
"Joshua" son of IEUTSaDaQ's name is a "sprouting branch"; the Ancient Hebrew word for "sprouting branch" is "TSaMaCH" (H6780):
ZaKaRIEU (Zechariah) 6:11—13
11 and thou hast taken silver and gold, and hast made a crown, and hast placed on the head of IEUSHO [H3091, with a qibbuts/kibbuts vowel-point ([ooh] sound) with three diagonal dots below the shin to make the same sound as IEUSHUO], son of IEUTSaDaQ, the high priest,
12 and hast spoken unto him, saying: Thus spake IEUE of Hosts, saying: Lo, a man! A SHOOT [H6780, TSaMaCH]-IS HIS NAME, And FROM HIS PLACE HE ["HE" should be "IT" (meaning the temple: read on)] DOTH SHOOT UP [H6779, I-TSaMaCH], And HE HATH BUILT THE TEMPLE OF IEUE.
13 Yea, HE DOTH BUILD THE TEMPLE OF IEUE, And he doth bear away honour, And he hath sat and ruled on His [should say "his"] throne, And hath been a priest on His [should say "his"] throne, And a counsel of peace is between both. [Young's Literal Translation; with added: words in brackets, capitalisation and Ancient Hebrew transliterations for proper nouns in the WLC].
The Concordant Literal Version translates the above verses similarly but uses the more accurate "sprout" instead of "shoot":
11 And you take silver and gold and make crowns and place them on the head of IEUSHO [H3091, with a qibbuts/kibbuts vowel-point ([ooh] sound) with three diagonal dots below the shin to make the same sound as IEUSHUO], son of IEUTSaDaQ, the great priest.
12 And you speak to him, saying, Thus speaks IEUE of hosts, saying: Behold the man! SPROUT [H6780, TSaMaCH] IS HIS NAME. And FROM UNDER HIM SHALL IT [THE TEMPLE] SPROUT [H6779, I-TSaMaCH]. And HE SHALL BUILD THE TEMPLE OF IEUE.
13 even HE SHALL BUILD THE TEMPLE OF IEUE, and he shall bear the splendor. And he shall sit and rule on his throne, and there comes to be [should say just "be": EIE (H1961 means "be" in this case)] a priest at his throne, and the counsel of welfare shall come to be between the two of them. [Concordant Literal Version; with added: words in brackets, capitalisation and Ancient Hebrew transliterations for proper nouns in the WLC]
Before "Joshua" son of IEUTSaDaQ was crowned and enthroned in IRUSHaLIM (Jerusalem) (like the MaSHICH will be), the MaLaAK (angel) of IEUE told this "Joshua" that he and his companions that sat before him "are mortals of symbol". This meant that they, their characteristics and their foundation stone were types and shadows of the (pointed forward towards the better) future High Priest, King, SPROUTING BRANCH and Foundation Stone—MaSHICH—and the forgiveness (removal of guilt) that would come through Him:
ZaKaRIEU (Zechariah) 3:6—10
6 And the messenger of IEUE witnessed to IEUSHO [H3091, with a qibbuts/kibbuts vowel-point ([ooh] sound) with three diagonal dots below the shin to make the same sound as IEUSHUO], saying,
7 “Thus said IEUE of hosts, ‘If you walk in My ways, and if you guard My duty, then you shall also rule My house, and also guard My courts. And I shall give you access among these standing here.
8 ‘Now listen, IEUSHO [H3091, with a qibbuts/kibbuts vowel-point ([ooh] sound) with three diagonal dots below the shin to make the same sound as IEUSHUO], the high priest, YOU AND YOUR COMPANIONS WHO SIT BEFORE YOU, FOR THEY ARE MEN OF SYMBOL. FOR LOOK, I AM BRINGING FORTH MY SERVANT – THE BRANCH [H6780, TSaMaCH, ie the MaSHICH] . Footnote: Or SPROUT. See Isa. 4:2, Isa. 11:1, Jer. 23:5, Jer. 33:15, Zech. 6:12.
9 ‘See the [HEAD (Zec 4:7—10)] STONE which I have put before IEUSHO [H3091, with a qibbuts/kibbuts vowel-point ([ooh] sound) with three diagonal dots below the shin to make the same sound as IEUSHUO]: on one [HEAD (Zec 4:7—10)] STONE are seven eyes. See, I am engraving its inscription,’ DECLARES IEUE OF HOSTS, ‘AND I SHALL REMOVE THE GUILT OF THAT LAND IN ONE DAY.
10 ‘IN THAT DAY,’ DECLARES IEUE OF HOSTS, 'YOU SHALL INVITE ONE ANOTHER, UNDER THE VINE AND UNDER THE FIG TREE.’ [BE IN UNIVERSAL PEACE and PROSPERITY (Lion Handbook of the Bible (1992), p 457)] ” [The Scriptures Version 1998; with added: words in brackets, capitalisation and Ancient Hebrew transliterations for proper nouns in the WLC].
Similarly, Young's Literal Translation (YLT) calls "Joshua" this high priest and his companions "men of type":
ZaKaRIEU (Zechariah) 3:8. Hear, I pray thee, JOSHUA, the HIGH PRIEST, THOU AND THY COMPANIONS sitting before thee, (For MEN OF TYPE ARE THEY) FOR LO, I AM BRINGING IN MY SERVANT [MaSHICH]-A SHOOT. [Capitalisation and word in brackets added]
Most English scripTURE versions use the word "branch" instead of "sprouting branch"—in verses both referring to the MaSHICH and the name of "Joshua son of IEUTSaDaQ; but the Ancient Hebrew Lexicon of the Bible defines this Ancient Hebrew word (TSaMaCH) as, "sprout" — in the sense of, "[A] plant that sprouts out of the ground or a bud that sprouts out of a tree" (AHLB #2666 [N]).
The MaSHICH is also called a TSaMaCH ("Sprouting Branch") in these three verses:
ISHOIEU (Isaiah) 4:2 In that day is the SHOOT [H6780, TSaMaCH] of IEUE for desire and for honour, And the fruit of the earth For excellence and for beauty to the escaped of ISHaRaAL. [Young's Literal Translation; with added: words in brackets, capitalisation and Ancient Hebrew transliterations for proper nouns in the WLC].
IRaMIEU (Jeremiah) 23:5 “See, the days are coming,” declares IEUE, “when I shall raise for DUID [David] a BRANCH [H6780, TSaMaCH] of righteousness, and a Sovereign shall reign and act wisely, and shall do right-ruling and righteousness in the earth. Footnote: Or SPROUT, [The Scriptures Version 1998; with added: words in brackets, capitalisation and Ancient Hebrew transliterations for proper nouns in the WLC].
IRaMIEU (Jeremiah) 33:15 In those days, and at that time, I cause to SHOOT up [H6779, ATSaMICH] to DUID [David] a SHOOT [H6780, TSaMaCH] of righteousness, And he hath done judgment and righteousness in the earth. [Young's Literal Translation; with added: words in brackets, capitalisation and Ancient Hebrew transliterations for proper nouns in the WLC].
The MaSHICH is also described as a (real) "branch" (NaTSaR) (Strong's #5342: Ancient Hebrew Lexicon of the Bible#: 2429 [N]) which is similar to a "sprouting branch", in ISHOIEU:
ISHOIEU (Isaiah) 11:1 And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of ISHI [Jesse, DUID's (David's) Father] and a BRANCH [H5342, NaTSaR] shall grow out of his roots: [AV; with added: words in brackets, capitalisation and Ancient Hebrew transliteration for proper noun in the WLC].
Almost 70 OTHER ISHaRaALites with IEU in their NAMES Have Had their Names SHORTENED
There are almost 70 other ISHaRaALites (here is a list) in the WLC who have multiple versions of their names, each with one to three letters of the tetragrammaton as a prefix or suffix.
These names are all examples of Ancient Hebrew names that were purposeful, and theophoric [more on this later].
Here are the worst cases of name-mutilation:
1) In first place MIKIEU (Michaiah) has five shortened versions.
2) In second equal place with four shortened versions each we have: ICHaZaQIEU (Jehizkiah), IKUNIEU (Jeconiah), and ISHaMOIEU (Ishmaiah).
3) In third equal place with three shortened versions each we have: I-E-U-SH-U-O (H3091), IEUASH (Jehoash), IEUQIM (Jehoiakim), and IBaNIEU (Ibneiah).
It's not surprising that the Old(er) Testament name that is most like IEUE's Son's Name is one of the most butchered, because our salvation (partly by calling on it before immersion) depends on it!
Ancient Hebrew Names Had a MEANING and Gave CHARACTER and LIFE-PURPOSE to the Name-Holders
"In the ancient world of the Bible, names had meaning. Some names depicted the wish of parents (or of God) for a child to fulfill a certain destiny. Or a name could describe a child's hoped-for character. Or if in later life he did not live up to his character name, he might be renamed. We have Abram—Abraham; Jacob—Israel; Jedidiah—Solomon." http://www.hebrew-streams.org/works/hebrew/hashem.html
"The child received a carefully chosen name which indicated some presumed moral or physical property present in him." (The Lion Handbook of the Bible (1992), p 93)
Western (Northern House ISHaRaALite) Parents are STILL CAREFUL About Names
Even today in the Western world we are careful what names we call our children. This is not surprising since many Westerners are bloodline ISHaRaALites.
"The response to a given name is definitely determined by the history of the name-bearer. In May 1945 no child was given the name of Adolf!" http://www.jewsforjesus.org/answers/jesus/names
THEOPHORIC Names Contain the Names (or Parts Thereof) of GODS
"Yehoshua [Modern Jewish Hebrew for H3091] is formally a theoforic name with the abbreviated tetragrammaton JHWH as its first element." http://www.jewsforjesus.org/answers/jesus/names [Underlining added]
A person or place that has the name of a god (or part thereof) in his or her or its name is said to have a "theophoric" name. A theophoric name describes the purpose of a god for a person through their life—or the kind of relationship a god has with a person.
"A theophoric name (Greek: "bearing a deity") embeds the name of a god, both invoking and displaying the protection of that deity. Instances of theophoric names embedding Apollo, will be familiar among the many men named Apollonios or Apollodorus in Greek Antiquity.
"Theophoric names were also exceedingly common in the Ancient Near East and Mesopotamia, where the personal name of an individual included the name of a god in whose care the individual is entrusted. The practice, called in onomastics theophory, refers to this naming convention of adding a god's name (or the local equivalent of the generic term for god) to an individual's proper name." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theophoric_names [Underlining added]
Yehweh INVENTED Theophoric Names
IEUE invented theophoric names to help preserve His Name—and to bless: the people who have them, and those who are around the people who have them.
Each theophoric name that has any number of letters of His Name "IEUE" in it indicates what IEUE will do through them in their life—or the relationship that person has with IEUE.
"Throughout the Scriptures, God puts his personal name on certain places, objects or persons. This act implied several things: ownership, adoption, even marriage. It meant that that place or person would (should) demonstrate God's character, or would be a living demonstration of a particular principle that God wanted other human beings to observe." http://www.hebrew-streams.org/works/hebrew/hashem.html
After IEUE revealed His Name to MaSHE (Moses) (for the first time), there is a sudden appearance in the Westminster Leningrad Codex of names with IEU in them (usually as a prefix or suffix)—and, very importantly, one with the full four letter name IEUE in it [more to come on this later].
(If IEUE wanted His name well and truly on record before MaSHE, we would see these names that included [at least] IEU in them from the time of ADaM and CHUE [Eve] in the garden of ODaN [Eden]. But there are hardly any personal names with [at least] IEU in them before MaSHE. There are no descendants of ADaM and CHUE [Eve] who had any letters of the Name IEUE embedded into their names except perhaps: 1) Joseph [MaSHE's great uncle and son of the man IOQaB (Jacob)/ISHaRaAL, H3084 & H3130] with its longest form as IEUXaP, and, 2) Jochebed [MaSHE's mother] with her longest form IUKaBaD [H3115]. Although some ISHaRaALites may have guessed what IEUE's Name was, the elite amongst them certainly didn't know for sure which is exactly why MaSHE asked IEUE what IEUE's Name was.
Also there are no place names with letters derived from Name IEUE in them before MaSHE. There are some place names which have the title "AL" [for "God"] embedded into them—but not of IEUE. For example: BIT-AL [Bethel] [which means House of AL/God], BIT ARaBaAL [bêyth 'arbê'l] [which means house of God's ambush], ISHaRaAL [yiśrâ'êl] [straight (is), God], and MaGaDaL-AL [migdal-'êl] [tower of God].
See 12 Reasons Why The Name IEUE Was NOT Known Before MaSHE [Moses] for more reasons why MaSHE did not know IEUE's Name.)
Having a Theophoric Name Does Not Make Yehweh's Son "GOD"
Some people say that the Son had the Father's Name (or a part thereof) embedded into His name because the Son was the Father IEUE in the flesh. However, there were almost 70 people in the scripTUREs with theophoric names so this idea is completely illogical. We cannot have 70 MaSHICHIM (Messiahs)—there is only one brought forth Son of IEUE:
IEUCHaNaN (John) 3:16 “For ALUEIM so loved the world that He gave His ONLY brought-forth SON [The Scriptures Version 1998; with added: capitalisation and Ancient Hebrew transliterations for proper nouns in the WLC].
See here for a great deal of scriptural evidence that IEUESHUO is not God.
There is a Need to Be CONSISTENT with the PREFIXES of the Father and Son's Names
With IEUE-inspired theophoric names in mind it's not possible to worship “Yahweh” and to love His Son “Yeshua”. We should either use Yahweh and Yah-u-shua or much better still (!) Yehweh and Yeh-weh-shooh-oh. We should either use all A’s or all E’s.
Yehweh's Theophoric Names Were Largely SHORTENED in BaBaL (BABYLON)
The most likely reason for the shortening of IEUE's theophoric names with time, is that there was an IEUDic (Jewish) ban on saying the Father's Name which started at least during their BaBaLonian (Babylonian) exile:
"Throughout the early books of the Hebrew Bible, Joshua's name is spelled Yehoshua. After the Babylonian Exile, the name underwent a shortening, apparently to remove the holy name element (Yeho-) so pagans wouldn't profane it. Thus in the post-exile book Nehemiah, Joshua is called "Yeshua the son of Nun" (Neh 8:17). Here is the progression: Hoshea son of Nun > Yehoshua son of Nun > Yeshua son of Nun. http://www.hebrew-streams.org/works/hebrew/hashem.html [Underlining added]
In BaBaL (Babylon) a great assault was made on IEUE's theophoric names by some evil scribes of IEUDE (Judah). Again, they started to hack and mutilate these names — making up to five shortened versions of each one!
It was forbidden to pronounce "IEUE", "IEU" or even "IE" and "IU". Thus these scribes helped bring the name of IEUE to naught (breaking the second commandment [SHaMUT (Exodus) 2:7 and DaBaRIM (Deuteronomy) 5:11]).
They did this by wrongly telling the Southern Kingdom in exile that the Name IEUE should never be pronounced for "fear of saying it incorrectly".
This man-made commmand was scripturally unwarranted. Whilst we are to use the Name IEUE respectfully (fearfully), we are encouraged to use it and call on it frequently (just as any pair of "lovers"—or parent to child would). The fact that the tetragrammaton is mentioned at least 6000 times in the Old(er) Testament shows that the writers of the original autographs had no problem using the name. Actually it suggests they were flaunting it prolifically.
The BLOTTING OUT of Yehweh's Son's Name Started 1000's of Years Before His Birth — and Was Well Underway By the Time of the BOOK of ACTS
The blotting out of IEUE's Son's Name (which contained the Father's Name) started very early on by the evil IEUDIM (Jewish) rulers, 1000's of years before He was born; it was well underway by the time of the Book of Acts:
15 But when they [the priests, captain of the temple, Sadducees (Act 4:1); rulers, elders, scribes and high priests (Acts 4:5—6)] had commanded them [ABaN (aka Kepha/Peter) and IEUCHaNaN (aka John)] to go aside out of the council, they consulted with one another,
16 saying, “What shall we do to these men? For, indeed, that an outstanding miracle has been done through them is apparent to all those dwelling in IRUSHaLIM [Jerusalem], and we are unable to deny it.
17 “But in order that it spreads no further among the people, let us strongly threaten them, to speak no more to anyone in this NAME.”
18 And they called them and commanded them not to speak at all nor to teach in the NAME of IEUESHUO.
26 Then the captain [of the temple] went with the officers and brought them [the emissaries (Acts 5:18)], not with force, for they feared the people, lest they should be stoned.
27 And having brought them, they set them before the council and the high priest asked them,
28 saying, “Did we not strictly command you not to teach in this NAME? And look, you have filled IRUSHaLIM [Jerusalem] with your teaching, and intend to bring the blood of this Man upon us!”
Act 5:40 And they [the council] heeded his [the Pharisee GAMALIEL's] advice, and having called for the emissaries, beating them, they commanded that they should not speak in the NAME of IEUESHUO, and let them go.
[The Scriptures Version 1998; with added: words in brackets, capitalisation and Ancient Hebrew transliterations for proper nouns in the WLC].
Conclusion — Yehweh's Son's Name AT LEAST Includes the SIX Hebrew Letters of JOSHUA Son of NUN's Real Name — that Transliterate into Old English as I-E-U-ʃ-U-O (Pronounced/Transcribed: Yehushuo [yeh-oo-shoo-oh])"
The most accurate name for "Joshua" son of NUN is I-E-U-SH-U-O. Hence IEUE's Son's Name at least includes this.
